Meta’s next metaverse push will focus on attracting younger people to its VR experience with new games and creation options, ideally drawing a new audience to its much-maligned virtual environment.
Meta Horizon Worlds
Horizon Worlds’ age-appropriate protections and safety defaults would be offered to 13–17-year-olds in the US and Canada in the coming weeks. Meta has included various measures to prevent exposure to harmful information in virtual reality. The Family Center for Worlds will let parents supervise teens’ access to Horizon Worlds as it gradually rolls it out.
Meta is creating immersive experiences that bring gaming characters and real-world friends together to encourage younger people to try virtual reality. Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite’s young, impressionable users might be perfect consumers for Meta’s metaverse push. As more young people adopt the metaverse, the VR experience in Meta may improve.
