YouTube is broadening access to its courses feature, offering creators a new way to engage their audiences while generating additional revenue. This feature allows creators to build structured video education offerings aligned with their channels, providing viewers with more in-depth learning experiences.
Creators can now launch courses directly through YouTube Studio, where available, and once a playlist is designated as a course, it will display a special badge on the Watch and playlist pages, as well as in search results, the home page, and other relevant areas. Courses will also have a dedicated tab on the creator’s channel page and may be featured on youtube.com/courses for easier discovery.
In addition to video content, creators can include quizzes linked to specific videos and offer a “Discussion” section for course participants to engage in broader, course-related conversations.
Viewers who complete a course will receive a badge in their “You” tab, with their progress and course details tracked on an information panel on the course playlist page.
YouTube is also enhancing its Live Shopping experience by refining the “Featured Products” display, offering creators more tools to boost their e-commerce efforts. Additionally, YouTube is making it easier for creators to add AI-generated labels when uploading videos via mobile devices.
YouTube’s expansion of its courses feature and enhanced creator tools mark a significant step in empowering creators to diversify their income streams while deepening audience engagement, presenting marketers with fresh opportunities to reach targeted audiences through structured educational content.
