Hundreds of books have been sold in recent years thanks to TikTok, particularly those that have been discussed under the hashtag #BookTok.
Once his daughter told him he went viral on TikTok, Mr. Richards was so overcome by the news that he cried when reading the reactions.
Mr. Richards has worked on his book for a long time but did not see any sales, until his daughter posted a 16-second video asking the TikTok community to help by saying “I’d love for him to get some sales.“.
In an interview with the BBC, Mr. Richards said “However, I earnestly believe that it is most important for a writer to never take no for an answer, to persevere, and never, never give up.“.
