According to a report shared by Britain’s media regulator Ofcom with Reuters, Spanchat blocked only hundreds of minors, compared to TikTok blocking thousands.

To sign up for some popular social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, users are required to be at least 13 years old. These limits are put in place for the sake of children’s security and privacy.
TikTok and Spanchat have shared their data with Ofcom about how many minors have been removed from their platforms last year. This is to prepare for Britain’s upcoming Internet Safety Bill.
TikTok reported to Ofcom that it had blocked almost 2 million underage accounts in the United Kingdom between April 2021 to April 2022.
Over the same time period, Spanchat blocked only 700 accounts per year, which on an average is about 60 accounts per month only.
