Pepsi has adopted a number of innovative approaches in recent years, including a branded reality show, a virtual restaurant, and experiments with soda that have included anything from nitro-infused cola to Peeps collaborations.
Minimalism Is Over
Pepsi has introduced a new logo and branding elements, such as bottles, cans, fountain and cooler machines, trucks, restaurants, and clothing. In celebration of the 125th anniversary of the company, a new visual identity will be introduced across all brand touchpoints beginning this fall in North America.
The soda’s formerly subdued blue color scheme has been replaced with a vibrant electric hue and contrasted by darker, more dramatic blacks. The “wordmark” now appears in a more prominent bespoke typeface and “Pepsi” has been moved higher to fit inside the globe shape of the logo.
In addition, Pepsi is using a “pulse” design element to convey a sense of vitality and motion.
