Using 3D graphics and computer vision technology, the lens lets users replicate facial expressions from the film in real-life using Snapchat’s augmented reality technology.

Snap is expanding its relationship with Disney ahead of the release of “Avatar: The Way of Water“. Users can see their mouth, eyes, head shape, hair and skin change as they transform into Navi. In April, Snap created an AR mural of Cinderella’s castle using customers’ Disney PhotoPass photos.
Additionally, according to the platform, consumers are 41% more inclined to evaluate brands that use branded AR experiences. Increased reliance on technology could support Snap amid what company expects to be a difficult fourth quarter.
