Twitter’s blue checkmark in it’s new form of a premium subscription of $8 ($7.99) is on hold per Elon Musk until there is a confidence in eliminating impersonation.
Twitter’s Blue Checkmark
You might have to wait a little longer if you didn’t seize the opportunity to send Elon Musk his $8 or $7.99 for a blue check while you still had the chance. Musk announced recently that the subscription service will be delayed until “there is high confidence of stopping impersonation,” which was originally scheduled to debut on November 29.
The launch of Twitter blue checkmark, was a complete disaster. Understandably, the feature was rapidly turned into a weapon to aid criminals in disguising themselves as famous people, businesses, and government figures.
One account said:
“We are excited to announce insulin is free now.” while posing as the pharmaceutical corporation Eli Lilly. Before it was deleted, the tweet received millions of views. Stock in the company fell and they lost nearly $22 billion.
