Google wants to give users more control over the ads they see in its apps and the information they share for those ads with the launch of its new “My Ads Center” tool, which will give more direct control options right from ad listings.
What is My Ads Center?
As you can see in this example, Google’s “Ad Settings” and “About this Ad” will soon be replaced by My Ad Center. This will give you more control over the different ad and data options you have.
I don’t know how many people will choose to see more ads, but the larger point is that you’re going to see the same number of ads anyway, so you might as well make them more relevant to your interests.
You’ll be able to choose which ads you want to see and which you don’t, and you’ll also be able to stop ads from being tailored to you.
Again, you can’t cut down on how many ads you see, but you can choose why you see them. This gives you more control. In addition to letting them know what you’re interested in, you’ll be able to limit ads about things like alcohol, dating, and weight loss.
Lastly, My Ads Center will also let you choose what kinds of information Google can and can’t use to show you ads.
People to choose how they want to use the Internet and how much information they want to share. It could also have an effect on advertisers, though based on past releases of this kind (like Facebook’s ad controls), only a small number of people will actually set up these ad rules.
But if you want to, you’ll have the choice. So, if you see a lot of ads on Google and YouTube that don’t interest you, you can now change things up and get rid of the ones you don’t want.
