LinkedIn has announced it will be discontinuing its “Top Voice” badges for users contributing to Collaborative Articles. These badges, which have encouraged participation in AI-driven content, will no longer be automatically awarded, marking a significant change for the platform’s content engagement strategies.
Since the introduction of Collaborative Articles, many users have shared insights, enhancing community learning and discussions.
However, LinkedIn has received feedback indicating difficulties in maintaining the quality of its “Community Top Voice” badges, which were granted automatically rather than through manual review. As a result, the platform will retire these gold badges starting October 8, 2024.
Contributors who currently hold a gold Top Voice badge will see it expire within 60 days of their most recent award date. For those earning the badge on or after October 8, it will remain valid until December 7, 2024.
LinkedIn emphasizes that its blue Top Voice badge, an invitation-only recognition overseen by the editorial team, will remain unchanged.
This update reflects LinkedIn’s efforts to ensure quality standards and maintain the credibility of its platform’s content contributors.
LinkedIn’s decision to retire automatic Top Voice badges highlights the importance of maintaining content quality and recognition standards.
As the platform evolves, marketers should continue focusing on providing value through authentic engagement and high-quality contributions to solidify their presence on LinkedIn.
