EU Digital Services Act
The European Commission’s Internal Market Commissioner, Thierry Breton, met with TikTok’s CEO Shou Zi Chew to address the app’s responsibilities in the region, particularly on the protection of minor users.
Breton warned Chew that, come September when the European Union’s (EU) new Digital Services Act (DSA) goes into effect, TikTok would have to answer more questions about how their data is being used. This is because of the new DSA, Breton said.
