A ‘Verified Views’ counter has just begun showing up on tweets. Musk has indicated that he will soon implement a counter that only tracks interactions from verified individuals. The bots will be driven away if enough people pay Twitter $8 per month to verify their accounts. Only roughly 0.14 per cent of Twitter’s total user base (or 325k users) are using the app right now.
Most Twitter users never post, yet the platform is constantly developing new features like giving verified accounts higher rankings. It’s not a new direction for the app at all; it’s just a jumble of in-app badges and unfinished ideas.
