TikTok announcing Series, a new method for TikTokers to share their valuable and premium content with the TikTok community for a fee.
TikTok Series
Using a paywall, users can pay a fee to watch premium content. A single series can have as many as 80 videos; each of the videos can be up to 20 minutes long. This allows people to watch the videos in a way that they would not be able to on their own.
With Series, TikTokers will have a much larger audience to whom they can post premium, ad-free content. Which may lead to some creators cross-posting their longer-form content from YouTube in an effort to make more money, and may lead to more people joining TikTok because they like what they see on TikTok.
TikTok is attempting to challenge YouTube with long form content with the introduction of Series. It will be interesting to see how it will work.
