With a more precise set of topic-specific labels replacing its current toggle, Twitch is rethinking how it flags mature content.
New Content Labels
With the introduction of new content labels by Twitch, streamers are now required to disclose when their channels contain material with explicit sexual content, graphic violence, drugs, intoxication, excessive tobacco use, gambling, or a high level of profanity or vulgarity.
When a streamer engages in gaming with a Mature ESRB rating, which applies to titles meant for players 17 and up, these labels will be automatically placed. Twitch wants to make labeling more precise and nuanced so that viewers and marketers can choose their content more wisely.
