Twitter is giving away free advertising space to companies that advertise on the platform in an effort to keep them.

According to an internal email communication, Twitter will double the money that companies spend on adverts, but only under two circumstances. As a first step, costs can’t go over $250,000. Second, all advertisements (up to $500,000 in total) must be broadcast before February 28 in order to qualify for Twitter’s reward.
The email claims that Twitter will double the money that companies spend on adverts, but only under two circumstances. As a first step, costs can’t go over $250,000. Second, all advertisements (up to $500,000 in total) must be broadcast before February 28 in order to qualify for Twitter’s reward.
The platform took a similar tack earlier this month, when it was claimed that it would meet up to $500,000 in advertising dollars provided the advertisements campaign ran to the end of the year.
According to analytics firm Sensor Tower, as of January 8, 2023, fewer than 25 of Twitter’s top 100 advertisers were still running advertising on Twitter. Twitter has had few issues with advertisers since Elon Musk acquired the company. He fought with Apple to keep them as an active advertiser.
Given that the majority of Twitter’s income comes from advertisements, analysts agree that doing so is crucial. This sum reached $5.1 billion in 2021, or nearly 90% of their income.
