The ad revenue split program for tweet responses, another important piece of Elon Musk’s Twitter 2.0 strategy, is ready for launch.
Twitter 2.0
Using a new initiative that Twitter is launching for creators, they can sign up to receive a portion of any cash made by advertising that is displayed in their tweet responses. This service offers users a new way to monetize their accounts, but it can also encourage users to tweet more inflammatory content. Ads are only shown in verified user comments, and the program is only available to Blue customers.
It has a small pool of applicants because only 0.3% of users pay for Twitter Blue. With its own video publishing capabilities and long-form articles, Twitter is seeking to compete with YouTube, so it might be a method for producers to monetize their tweets.
