Meta is expanding its Reels overlay ads to more advertisers, offering a new advertising opportunity within its fastest-growing content format. Reels on Facebook and Instagram provide users with innovative ways to express themselves and discover new content, while helping aspiring creators gain visibility.
Advertisers can now publish ads on Reels by selecting Advantage+ placements (formerly automatic placements) or Manual placements in Meta Ads Manager. These ads include overlay and post-loop ads on Reels, as well as Stories and Reels placements.
Options for Reels ads include banners on Reels videos and video ads between Reels videos, supported by brand safety tools such as inventory filters, block lists, publisher lists, and delivery reports.
Fullscreen ads on Facebook Reels appear between Reels and allow users to engage by commenting, liking, viewing, saving, sharing, or skipping them. Meta is committed to enhancing full screen ads on Facebook Reels and refining their reporting methodology to ensure accurate measurement and optimization.
Meta’s expansion of Reels overlay ads is a strategic move to leverage its rapidly growing content format, offering brands innovative ways to engage with users. This initiative underscores Meta’s focus on providing versatile and dynamic advertising solutions that cater to both advertisers and content creators.
