Apple Sports, the free app for iPhone, is gearing up for football season with new updates, making it easier for fans to follow NFL and college football games.
The app now offers an enhanced play-by-play feature, giving users quick access to scoring drives and a dynamic drive tracker that shows the ball’s location on the field in real-time. Fans can track their favorite teams and the top 25 college teams, along with real-time scores, stats, and live betting odds, similar to other leagues in the app.
With the upcoming iOS 18 and watchOS 11 updates, Apple Sports will deliver Live Activities for the first time, enabling fans to receive live scores and play-by-play updates directly on their iPhone and Apple Watch Lock Screens.
Later this year, the app will also introduce a new drop-down navigation for faster access to scorecards and an enhanced search feature for leagues users don’t currently follow.
Apple Sports offers comprehensive coverage of major leagues, including the NFL, NCAAF, MLS, MLB, NBA, WNBA, NHL, and more. Starting in September, fans will also be able to follow Champions League and Europa League matches.
The app is designed for simplicity and speed, giving users a personalized experience with customizable scoreboards, play-by-play information, and links to live games via the Apple TV app.
With these new features, Apple Sports is positioning itself as a must-have for sports fans, especially during football season.
The seamless integration of live updates across iPhone and Apple Watch Lock Screens will enhance the real-time experience, keeping fans engaged and informed at every moment of the game.
