Baidu, the Chinese search engine, has launched lawsuits against Apple for selling pirated versions of its Ernie AI bot assistant.

Last month, the company released the AI-powered Ernie bot, which has been hailed as China’s equivalent to the American-made chatbot ChatGPT.
According to Baidu, it has filed litigation against Apple in the Beijing Haidian People’s Court over the latter company’s alleged piracy of its Ernie bot.
In a statement published on Baidu’s WeChat channel, the company said: “At present, Ernie does not have any official app. Until our company’s official announcement, any Ernie app you see from App Store or other stores are fake.”.
Users must apply for and get an access code before they can use the Ernie bot. Baidu also cautioned against the sale of access codes by other parties in its statement.
