Bud Light‘s recent advertisement with Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs did not help improve their reputation after the controversy with Dylan Mulvaney.
Bud Light New Commercial
Bud Light released a commercial where Kelce and some other men open cans of beer and make loud noises, while their sales are decreasing.
Criticism has arisen online for the ad, named ‘Backyard Grunts with Travis Kelce,’ which is being seen as a desperate attempt to win back support. Numerous comments have alleged that the brand is once again trying to restore their reputation.
The most recent advertisement appears to be targeting to regain male customers who were deterred by the brand’s previous marketing tactics. Kelce is depicted at a barbecue, accompanied by a group of men, comically grunting while leisurely settling into their seats and opening a beer.
Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender activist and influencer, was unveiled as Bud Light’s ambassador to support the March Madness basketball championship in April. This verdict triggered a persistent boycott for quite some time.
