OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has reinstated access to the service in Italy after claiming to have made improvements to appease local regulators.
Protecting Privacy
OpenAI has declared that the Italian Data Protection Authority (GPDP) has lifted its ban on ChatGPT. The concerns raised by the GPDP have been resolved, and the company has taken steps to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe.
In order to protect the privacy of Italian citizens, the GPDP has requested that OpenAI implement additional age verification improvements and launch a media campaign to educate the public on their right to decline participation in data collection.
