Among the key updates is the expansion of passkeys generated through Google Password Manager. These secure login credentials can now be seamlessly synced across computers and Android devices.
Users can create passkeys using facial recognition, fingerprints, or screen locks on multiple platforms, including Android, ChromeOS, macOS, Windows, and Linux. To ensure end-to-end encryption, users can set up a Google Password Manager PIN.
Chrome’s Safety Check feature has also undergone significant improvements. The revamped tool now automatically runs in the background, proactively revoking unused site permissions, unsubscribing users from abusive notifications, and identifying potentially harmful extensions. This enhanced functionality provides users with an additional layer of protection against online threats.
Furthermore, Chrome’s Enhanced Protection, powered by artificial intelligence, offers real-time defense against phishing and malware.
This advanced security feature can be activated by navigating to Settings, selecting Privacy and security, and enabling Enhanced protection under Safe Browsing.
