The German agriculture minister has said that the future health of Germany’s youth is at danger. He asked that all advertising for junk food be stopped.

Green Party member and agriculture minister Cem zdemir said that it was important to protect children from bad diet by stop advertising. He said that a bad diet can cause weight gain and other problems.
Several consumer groups have argued that the measures should go even further, such as making it illegal to sell candy to children at checkout counters, where parents often feel pressured to buy them to stop their children complaining.
Health experts believe that 50% of German adults and 15% of youngsters are overweight.
