YouTube is set to discontinue its Stories feature, following the move of other social media platforms.
YouTube Stories Retired
YouTube Stories was launched in 2018 to take advantage of the Stories trend and give creators more ways to interact with their viewers. It provides a similar full-screen experience and allows for greater audience engagement.
YouTube said in their announcement “Starting on 6/26/2023 the option to create a new YouTube Story will no longer be available. Stories that are already live on that date will expire 7 days after they were originally shared.”.
Although not widely used, this news could still influence your approach to producing content for YouTube in the future.
