TikTok recently rolled out a new feature called “Open Applications” that is streamlining communication between creators and brands. This allows brands to submit information about an upcoming campaign, and interested creators may then reply within the app.

The feature has been in beta testing on TikTok since February, so it’s not brand new. All brands can now use TikTok’s Creator Marketplace to attract creators and get help with their campaigns.
In their blog, TikTok said “Each creator application includes a short pitch or concept for the brand campaign, examples of relevant TikTok videos they’ve created, contact information, and their proposed fee. By allowing creators to propose their campaign ideas to you, Open Applications makes it easier to find creators with unique stories and connections to your brand – qualities that can be hard to find through a simple creator search.”.
This procedure serves as a screening process to identify potential TikTok creators, while also opening up possibilities for further collaboration between users and brands.
