With the sender’s permission, WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to keep vanishing messages in a chat thread.
Disappearing Messages
The new ‘Keep in Chat’ function in WhatsApp will allow users to save important messages for later reference. When a recipient keeps a message, the sender will be notified and given the option to cancel the retention. Users can choose whether to delete the communication permanently or grant the request of another user to keep it.
For creators to have greater say over their direct messages, it would make sense for WhatsApp to implement this as an in-stream option with enhanced sender control features.
