Through a variety of FIFA World Cup-themed activations and challenges (#FIFAWorldCupChallenge), YouTube hopes to use the tournament as another platform to advertise YouTube Shorts to reach 10 billion views.
YouTube Shorts in Qatar’s World Cup
A number of well-known YouTubers and YouTube Shorts filmmakers, including Cheeky Boyos, and Noor Stars, are travelling to Qatar to help film and promote the event using YouTube Shorts.
Sending major influencers to cover various views and aspects of the event is a smart way to boost viewer interaction with Shorts surrounding the event, involving their fans and wider audiences in the World Cup excitement.
A second group of Shorts creators from YouTube will travel to Qatar to cover the Cup finals. Along with other World Cup-related content, YouTube is presenting many World Cup games on the official FIFA YouTube channel.
