To attract advertisers at Cannes Lions, the notoriously secretive company has hired a room at the Carlton Hotel for meetings, parties, and programming.

Services revenue, which includes advertising-income, increased by about 5% annually to $19 billion in 2022. Apple has hired ad executive Lauren Fry to help create a video advertising business for Apple TV+, and the company is also developing a demand-side platform.
Advertising accounts for around 40% of the company’s annual revenue, but the company’s branding places a premium on user privacy, which has complicated mobile advertising ecosystems.
