Instagram’s text-based app, informally named “Barcelona,” is getting closer to its debut, with selected creators being briefed on how it works.

The new app from Meta is a stripped-down version of Twitter that’s meant to function more like a chat feed. Users can share status updates with text, links, photographs, and videos, as well as comment, like, and re-post content from other users.
Instagram plans to develop a separate chat app to take on Twitter, giving users additional options when it comes to where they may socialize online.
