OpenAI has officially released its latest text-generating model, GPT-4, making it accessible to developers through its API.
GPT-4 Is Here
Starting immediately, developers who have a record of successful payments for the OpenAI API will be granted access to GPT-4. By the end of this month, OpenAI intends to grant new developers access and later increase availability limits depending on compute availability.
GPT-4 surpasses its predecessor, GPT-3.5, by generating text which includes code, accepting both image and text inputs, and achieving “human level” performance on diverse professional and academic benchmarks. GPT-4 was trained using public data and licensed data by OpenAI, similar to previous models.
OpenAI plans to let developers improve GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 Turbo with their own data, similar to what has been possible with other models. OpenAI has announced that the feature will be available later this year.
