In response to the most recent demonstrations against the website, Reddit has begun eliminating moderator teams overseeing subreddits that changed the labeling on their communities to Not Safe For Work (NSFW).

Reddit no longer allows mods in NSFW-tagged subreddits, making it difficult to profit from them. Mods on other subreddits have been suspended because of the removal of mods, which breaches the Content Policy and Moderator Code of Conduct.
Tim Rathschmidt, a Reddit official, denied confirming the reinstatement and asserted that the termination of a subreddit’s whole moderating staff without notice guarantees that users can access their communities.
Reddit’s largest retaliation against its volunteer moderators, who spend years running these groups without compensation, is the removal of mods. These communities may see significant negative effects.
