Getty Images, the renowned global visual content leader, has unveiled its latest offering, Generative AI by Getty Images. This cutting-edge tool combines Getty Images’ top-tier creative content with state-of-the-art AI technology, ensuring commercial safety in generative AI capabilities.
The Generative AI tool utilizes the sophisticated Edify model architecture from NVIDIA Picasso, a hub dedicated to generative AI models for visual design. It has been exclusively trained using Getty Images’ extensive creative collection, encompassing premium exclusive content.
This ensures that any content generated comes with a guarantee for safe commercial use. This tool is seamlessly integrated with Getty Images’ vast repository of genuine visuals and Custom Content solutions, enhancing the entire creative journey for customers to pinpoint the perfect visual content.
Craig Peters, CEO at Getty Images said “We’re excited to launch a tool that harnesses the power of generative AI to address our customers’ commercial needs while respecting the intellectual property of creators. We’ve worked hard to develop a responsible tool that gives customers confidence in visuals produced by generative AI for commercial purposes.”.
Any visuals crafted and downloaded using Generative AI by Getty Images will come under Getty Images’ standard royalty-free license. This includes unlimited indemnification, representations, and warranties, along with perpetual global usage rights across all media channels. However, the content created won’t be incorporated into Getty Images or iStock for further licensing. Additionally, contributors will receive compensation if their content is used in the AI training process.
Grant Farhall, Chief Product Officer at Getty Images said “We’ve listened to customers about the swift growth of generative AI – and have heard both excitement and hesitation – and tried to be intentional around how we developed our own tool. We’ve created a service that allows brands and marketers to safely embrace AI and stretch their creative possibilities, while compensating creators for inclusion of their visuals in the underlying training sets.”.
This AI service can be activated on GettyImages.com and can also be woven into existing customer workflows via an API. Future upgrades, including customization options for Generative AI by Getty Images to adapt to specific brand styles and languages, are on the horizon for release later this year.
Getty Images’ foray into the Generative AI space marks a significant stride in merging creative visual content with AI. As AI continues to reshape industries, tools that prioritize commercial safety while maintaining creative authenticity will become indispensable for brands worldwide.
