The WSJ claimed that after Elon Musk‘s acquisition of Twitter, advertisers fled the platform, causing Twitter’s revenue to plummet 40%.
Twitter Advertisers Left The Platform
After Elon Musk‘s contentious buyout of Twitter, advertising revenue took a nosedive in December 2022.
Some major companies, such as Apple and Amazon, have assured Elon Musk that they will spend advertising money on the platform, but Twitter’s cost-cutting methods have made this difficult.
In an effort to entice advertisers once again, Twitter has made many changes such as relaxing their political ads’ policy, improving search keywords ads, permitting cannabis advertising and even offering free ads to advertisers.
