TikTok is testing an AI chatbot called Tako on its app in the Philippines. The chatbot is aimed at taking advantage of the current interest in AI.
TikTok’s AI Bot
TikTok is planning to add a chatbot called ‘Tako’ that users can access via the on-screen menu. Users will be able to ask questions to the bot within the app, similar to Snapchat’s ‘My AI‘ response tool. This information was reported by Watchful.ai.
Shared in a Tweet, TikTok said: “Tako is powered by a third-party chat assistant and is designed to help make it easier to discover entertaining and inspiring content on TikTok. No current plans for this beyond these early tests, but we’re excited to hear your feedback!”.
Tako aims to help users discover suitable TikTok content based on their queries, rather than offering a comprehensive answer to all their questions. In essence, the focus is on guiding individuals towards appropriate matches rather than answering their queries outright.
